Farm Bureau Women meet in county

SAINT AUGUSTINE – More than 100 Florida women representing 21 county Farm Bureaus were in St. Augustine the beginning of March for the Women’s Leadership Conference 2017. Setting was the World Golf  Village Renaissance St. Augustine Resort

Highlights included presentation of awards for contributions to members’ communities and their work at improving awareness of agriculture through educational programming, leadership development and public outreach. Among those receiving honors was the Putnam/St. Johns County Farm Bureau, with St. Johns County resident Wendy Jo Williams accepting the award on behalf of the local group.

Florida Farm Bureau President John Hoblick and State Women’s Leadership Committee Chair Sarah Carte welcomed all to the three-day conference. Helping coordinate the meeting here was Wendy Smith, a member of the state committee and district 3 chair.

The agenda included interactive workshops, networking opportunities and farm tours of local agriculture. Speakers’ topics ranged from using skills to promote agriculture to a report on The Center for Food Integrity.

Guest speaker Michelle Reyna of St. Johns County spoke to the group, sharing the rich history of the area.

    I’m sure Michelle Reyna did a wonderful presentation, as always. The women at Marsh Creek are still mentioning how educational but at the same time entertaining her presentation was!!!
