Summer fun at the library

PALATKA – The summer library program in Putnam County kicks off June 2 at 10 a.m. Check with your local library to see all of the fun music-themed events they have planned for “Libraries Rock!”

The Headquarters Palatka Library is partnering with the Kiwanis to host a Preschool-Toddler Festival during the Kick-Off. This is a family resource fair with fun activities to inspire and educate 0-5 year olds. Join us for a Pete the Cat story time, balloon animals, face painting, music, and more. Over 20 organizations will be there including the Early Learning Coalition to give parents information about all the resources available to them and their children in Putnam County.
There’s special Kick-Off events happening at all five libraries! Learn about the sounds of the ocean with “Songs of the Sea” featuring Marineland at the Melrose Library. At the Interlachen Library, it’s “Music & Fun” with Special Guests: Chuck & Murray!
The Kick-Off is the perfect time to register for upcoming programs and the Summer Reading Challenge. There are 6 weeks of themed story times for infants, toddlers, and school age children June 11 through July 28.
