Sign of the Season

 

PALATKA – Cars slowed on U.S. 17 (Reid Street) in Palatka on Good Friday as a procession of Roman soldiers, people in the garb of the First Century and a man dragging a cross walked down the sidewalk headed toward Memorial Bridge.

Several carried a banner asking: “Do You Remember What Happens Next?”

The tableaux was a vivid reminder of the crucifixion of Christ and the beginning and true reason for Easter. Abundant Life Ministries in Palatka put on the event.

Churches throughout the area will celebrate the resurrection of the Son of God on Sunday. Easter Sunrise Services are planned in Vilano Beach, Crescent Beach, Flagler Beach, Palatka, Interlachen and Crescent City.
