Blue Crab Festival Memorial Day gala

PALATKA – Carnival rides, music, arts and crafts and much more, including a colorful parade, will be in the spotlight in this riverside community May 26-29 during the annual Blue Crab Festival. There is no admission to the celebration held at 324 River St. in the newly renovated riverfront arena.

The yearly celebration kicks off at 5 p.m. Friday, May 26, continuing until midnight and featuring live bands.  Hours May 27 and 28 are from 10 a.m. to midnight; and May 29 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Monday parade, beginning at 10 a.m.,  includes marching bands, community groups and organizations. At 11 a.m. a Memorial Day service begins at the riverfront.

As part of the four-day celebration, artists and craftsmen will spotlight their specialties which range from toys and furniture to paintings and jewelry. Another tradition of the yearly celebration is a selection of mouth-watering culinary choices.

Due to the burn ban there will be no fireworks this year.
