Something’s eating geranium leaves

Q:    What is eating the leaves of my geraniums? They are in pots on my deck and I do not see any insects. There are all kinds of holes in their leaves.

A:    Geraniums provide a favorite meal for snails and slugs. The damage you describe sounds like that caused by them. Place some snail bait in the pot for best control. The snails and slugs only come out at night.

Q:    How often are flower and vegetable gardens fertilized?

A:    Production gardens are fed every four to six weeks while growing. Lack of nutrients will limit flower and food production.
