Easter Festival meeting Aug. 14
The St. Augustine Easter Week Festival meets at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, at the G&G Building, Old Moultrie Road, behind the Ponce de Leon Mall.
The Easter Festival group is the organization that selects the Royal Trio each year – the ruling family in Spain in 1672, year construction was begun on St. Augustine’s Castillo de San Marcos. The family includes Queen Mariana, King Carlos and Princess Margarita Maria, and selection of the trio is made from heritage natives of St. Augustine.
However, anyone can be a member of the entourage and also assist with the yearly Easter Parade. Volunteers are always welcomed to the meetings which generally last 90 minutes and include refreshments.
