Kayaking 101 at Dunns Creek Park
PUTNAM COUNTY – Kayaking 101 is planned at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, and Saturday Sept. 9 at Dunns Creek State Park. Training will be held on Lake Broward at the recreation area, North Broward Avenue, Pomona Park near Dunns Creek State Park.
Sam Carr, certified by the American Canoe Association will conduct a three-hour session in a program designed for anyone interested in kayaking, particularly beginners.
Training is limited to six participants. Fee is $25 per person. Kayak, paddle and Personal Flotation Device rentals are included in the training fee. No children under 14 please. Children 14 to 17 are able to participate only with a registered parent/guardian accompanying them.
Kayaking is a water sport, so participants will be getting wet. Dress accordingly. There are no refunds available for the training unless another participant can fill the spot.
