Make your own solar eclipse viewer
PALATKA – The Putnam County Library System issued the reminder about Monday’s solar eclipse. Do not look directly at the sun. The only safe way to view the event is with eclipse glasses., but if you do not have the glasses, you can make a pin-hole viewer/projector oug of a simple box like a cereal box.
Also required are a white piece of paper, some aluminum foil, a small nail (3mm) and tape. Instructions on how to make a box are available at the library.
The solar eclipse begins at 1:17 p.m. MOnday, Aug. 21; maximum is at 2:48 p.m.; and it ends at 4:12 p.m.
