It’s National 4-H Week
SAINT AUGUSTINE – National 4-H week in 2017 is Oct. 1-7, and a challenge is issued to 4-H families to use their Head, Heart, Hands and Health especially during this week to celebrate 4-H by completing the National 4-H Week “4-H in Action” passport below. Submit the passport to the 4-H Office by October 27th for a 4-H prize.
Here are a few ideas, however you are welcome to think of your own.
Monday, Oct. 2– Use your HEAD “for clearer thinking” by making positive choices to learn something new or teach others about your 4-H project.
Tuesday, Oct. 3– Use your HEART “for greater loyalty” to be welcoming and kind by sitting with a new friend at school or by attending the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioner meeting when the National 4-H Week Proclamation will be read. The meeting starts at 9:00am at 500 San Sebastian Way.
Wednesday, Oct. 4-Use your HANDS “for larger service” to be generous and give back to your community by planting flowers in your neighborhood or baking something yummy for an elderly neighbor.
Thursday, Oct. 5-Use your HEALTH “for better living” to care for yourself and your family by taking a family walk or preparing and eating a healthy supper together while enjoying some good family conversation.
Friday, Oct. 6-Share your 4-H story with others or write a Haiku about 4-H and email it to the 4-H office at gsachs@sjcfl.us. (Traditionally, a haiku is written in three lines, with five syllables in the first line, seven syllables in the second line, and five syllables in the third line.)
