58th annual Cracker Day Oct. 21

SAINT AUGUSTINE – Horse competitions, finger-licking food and a variety of booths are set up Saturday (Oct. 21) for the 58th annual Cracker Day, stated at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds, State Road 207, and sponsored by the St. Johns Cattlemen’s Association. Cracker Cows will be on display thanks to JebSmith, reports Chuck Stephens, longtime cattlemen’s member, former president and a key organizer of the yearly tribute.

Admission is a $5 parking fee.

Gates open at 7 a.m. with horse game sign-up beginning at 8 a.m. and competition beginning at 9 a.m. continuing. Festivities continue  until “we’re through,” says Stephens. That’s usually about 5 p.m. Barbecue will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

For further information contact Stephens at 669-4241.
