Add book fair to your December schedule
SAINT AUGUSTINE – Learn to Read of St. Johns County, Inc., and Barnes & Noble present a Holiday Shop at Our Book Fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.. Dec. 2 at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 1930 U.S. 1 South.
A portion of Barnes & Noble book sales, cafe purchases and online sales will be donated to Learn to Read.
Authors will be on hand from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for book signings, readings and talks.

11:00 – Susan Calfee’s St. Augustine A-Z, a rhyming, ABC adventure.
11:30 – M. C. Finotti – Paintbrushes and Arrows: A Story of St. Augustine for middle
grade readers.
12:00 – Diane Quick-Machaby – When God Showed Up: Recognizing His Hand in Our Lives
1:00 – Former Florida Game Warden Bob H. Lee – Backcountry Lawman. Bad Guys,
Bullets, and Boat Chases
1:30 – Sue Scheff, Shame Nation: The Global Epidemic of Online Hate
2:00 – Amy Quincy – Misadventures of a Happy Heart: A Memoir of Life Beyond Disability
3:00 – Arthur Mendenhall – Jed Chance: Ride for Justice
4:00 – Lego Winners and Prizes announced Sid Ansbacher, Esq., Chair Elect, Learn To Read
This event is free and open to the public. A percentage of all Barnes & Noble book and café sales at the store the day of the event will be donated to Learn to Read – as will online sales through February 9. Participants must use the B&N Voucher # 12120747 at purchase to ensure credit to Learn To Read.
A Lego building competition is also planned from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with prizes awarded at 4 p.m. for ages 5-8; 9-12; and 13-16.
Learn to Read provides free literacy skills assessment and instruction in St. Johns and Putnam Counties to individuals 16 years of age and older. In addition to one-on-one literacy tutoring, Learn to Read has recently expanded its services to help people learn English as a second language (ESOL) through personal tutoring and group conversation courses.
