Trolley group sets 5th annual contest
SAINT AUGUSTINE – During this season’s Nights of Lights in the Nation’s Oldest City, Old Town Trolley guests riding the famous Nights of Lights Trolley can vote for their favorite holiday lighting display in the Fifth Annual Light Up the Night! contest.
St. Augustine’s Nights of Lights has been spotlighted by national and world-wide audiences and featured in National Geographic as one of the Top 10 Places To See Holiday Lights in the world.
St. Augustine invites all holiday guests and local businesses to join together and participate in this year’s 24th Annual Nights of Lights celebration in the historic downtown district. Thousands of visitors will ride the Old Town Trolley’s Famous Nights of Lights Trolley to experience the wonderland of millions of white twinkling lights illuminating the Nation’s Oldest City, and vote for their favorite holiday lighting displays. Votes can be cast by texting “Lights” and the name of the business to 41411. Winners will be announced on Thursday, February 1.
Also, beginning Sunday, Nov.19 through Wednesday, Dec, 27, Old Town Trolley presents its fifth-year partnership with St. Johns County school groups and local musical acts, including the St. Augustine Community Band. Hosted at the Visitor Information Center on select nights (see below for schedule), guests can enjoy holiday entertainment in queue for the Famous Nights of Lights Trolley. The performance venue is located at the corner of W. Castillo Dr. and San Marco Ave., 10 W. Castillo Drive in downtown St. Augustine.

With guest votes tabulated for the Light Up The Night! contest, winning businesses will receive the following:
First prize winner: $1,000 in cash and media package worth $1,750 with a 1/2-page ad in Mint Magazine and 100 WSOS 103.9 radio spots.
Second prize winner: $750 in cash and media package worth $1,000 with a 1/3-page ad in Mint Magazine and 50 WSOS 103.9 radio spots.
