Community Chorus sets December events
SAINT AUGUSTINE – The St. Augustine Community Chorus, under the direction of Mike Sanflippo announces the opening of their 2017-18 concert season with two December performances.
From Prophecy to Peace will be presented Saturday, Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 17 at 2 p.m.in the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine. The chorus will be joined by the St. Augustine Youth Chorus, directed by Kerry Fradley.
In SACC’s continuing commitment to perform music of living composers, the program will feature music with chamber orchestra accompaniment by Z. Randall Stroope, Donald Fraser, John Rutter, and Mary Lynn Lightfoot, along with several favorite traditional choral arrangements. The program will again feature excerpts from Handel’s Messiah, along with the chamber orchestra, and will include the crowd favorite sing along of the “Hallelujah Chorus” as well as several well-known Christmas carols. The chorus is both excited and delighted to join you in celebration of the holiday season by presenting this joyous concert to our community.
Concert tickets: Adults $20 in advance and $25 at the door, $5 for students and military with ID.
