Chorus concert in March

 

SAINT AUGUSTINE – The St. Augustine Community Chorus, under the direction of Mike Sanflippo, presents From Stage to Screen Opera Choruses, Broadway Fare & Film Music, as part of its 2017-2018 concert season on Saturday, March 10th at 7:30 pm and Sunday, March 11th at 3:00 pm at Ancient City Baptist Church, 27 Sevilla St.

This year our annual Pops Concert, accompanied by our “Pops Band” coordinated by Gary Bunt, including piano, bass, drums, guitar, and reeds, feature some familiar tunes and some new ones to enjoy!  We will sample a few opera choruses, then the finale from an operetta by Gilbert and Sullivan, and revisit music made famous on both the Broadway stage and on the big screen. You will hear selections from Oklahoma, Sound of Music, Wicked, and Into the Woods along with some Disney tunes from years of live action and animated films. The St. Augustine Youth Chorus will be joining the Community Chorus to sing a medley of songs from the hit Disney show, Mary Poppins. There are a few other surprises to end the program….. You will go out with fingers snapping and toes tapping!

Concert tickets: Adults $15 in advance and $20 at the door, $5 for students and military with ID.
