Durbin Creek Nursery opening
SAINT AUGUSTINE – Workshops, free refreshments and much more will be in the spotlight Saturday, March 24, when Durbin Creek Nursery opens its doors at 4286 Race Track Road. Hours for the grand opening are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Horticulturist Keith Fuller is manager of the new facility, and both Fuller and his boss, Jeff Thomas, have horticulture degrees from the University of Florida. Sue Kalter, who has won numerous awards for her gardens and landscape expertise, joins Fuller and Thomas in providing information and guidance to customers.
The 2 1/2-acre Durbin Creek Nursery is owned by a commercial landscaping company and a sod farm, Fuller explains.
Among those sharing their knowledge at Saturday’s grand opening will be Fred Whitley, discussing roses; and Kalter, who will provide tips on plant care.
Regular hours for the nursery, which offers discounts for senior citizens and veterans, will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Further information is available at http://www.durbincreeknursery.com or call 904-429-7297.
