Swingin’ soiree at the Lighthouse

SAINT AUGUSTINE: Events are heating up this season at the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum.

May 31 from 7 to 9 p.m. it’s Swingin’ Soiree Time celebrating the official opening of the U.S. Coast Guard art exhibition in the newly renovated 1941 Coastal Lookout Quarters.

Donation is $50 per person, and funds will go to the permanent exhibit, The First Coast Response to WW II. For tickets call 904-0745, ext. 22.

Entertainment for the evening will be provided by Alley Katz, presenting 1940s-era music.

A SECOND EVENT May 31 is Dining to Donate at Applebee’s. That continues from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Flyers are required to take advantage of this offer, with 10 percent of diner’s bill donated to the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum.
