Pedro Menendez Skills students earn state honors in Pensacola

SAINT AUGUSTINE – Students from Pedro Menendez High School Academy of Architectural & Building Sciences recently returned from the State Skills USA Leadership Conference in Pensacola, where they competed in the field of Masonry and Architectural Drafting.
Masonry senior, Eric Macy placed third in the state while Kaylee Folckemer, placed first earning a gold medal.
Kaylee will represent the state of Florida competing in Masonry this summer at the Skills USA International Leadership Conference in Louisville, KY.
Among those supporting the Pedro students at the competition was the Pilot Club of St. Augustine, which awarded a $1,000 Donald E. Heymen Scholarship to help with expenses for the trip.
