Meyer Family upcoming talk topic
SAINT AUGUSTINE – “The Meyer Family” Photographs of St. Augustine and Tin Can Tourists” will be presented by Bob Nawrocki, MLS, at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, in the Flagler Room of Flagler College by the St. Augustine Historical Society.

The Meyer family resided in St. Augustine in the 1870s and 1880s and returned as tin can tourists after 1918. This talk will show their photographs, printed from glass plate negatives, and tell the story of this family. The family were prolific amateur photographers and their images show a side of St. Augustine that is usually not seen. The Richard Aloysius Twine and Meyer family glass plate collection are featured in the current issue of El Escribano, the journal of the St. Augustine Historical Society.
This event is free and open to the public. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
