Paws for a good cause Oct. 13
SAINT AUGUSTINE – The 2019 Pin Up Paws pet calendar will be revealed at the St. Augustine Humane Societyannual fundraising event on Saturday, Oct. 13. The benefit will be held from 5 to 8:30 pm at Fraternal Order Of Police (F.O.P.) Lodge, 5050 Inman Rd. in St. Augustine. All proceeds from tickets sales, recent calendar submissions with pets and classic cars, and votes, along with sponsorships, and calendar sales will benefit the programs and services of the St. Augustine Humane Society. Winning cars will be on display during the festivities and a live auction of merchandise, vacations, trips and services, to name a few.
The live auction is being conducted by Great Expectations Auction & Estate Services with special items including a Zulu Nyala South Africa Photo Safari, Disney tickets, Caribbean all-inclusive resort stay, and many locally-sourced items. The Bombshell Belles of Florida are making a special appearance to help hostess the event. The Bombshell Belles are a family-friendly pinup group dedicated to volunteering for charities, building friendships, and enhancing personal development. FUN FILLED EVENING

According to Carolyn Smith, executive director of the Humane Society, a record amount of more than $25,400 was raised by calendar photo entries this year. The calendar theme, “The Fast and the Furriest” features winning pets and a classic car theme while the dog or cat is fitted with accessories to match their unique personalities.
Calendars will be available at the St. Augustine Humane Society for $10 each. Business hours are Monday through Friday from 9 am until 4 pm. Open Saturday by appointment. Closed Sunday.
