Sukkot rites at Sons of Israel

SAINT AUGUSTINE – Rabbi Joel Fox will lead Sukkot and Sabbath services on Friday, Sept. 28, 7:30 pm, and Saturday, Sept.r  10 am, 161 Cordova St.

Weather permitting, services will be held in the Sukkah (a little hut or booth built outside of the home), built by congregation members.

“As we build a sukkah, we fulfill G-d’s commandment to remember that the Jews first lived in sukkot when they were brought out of slavery in Egypt,” members of the Congregation explain. “In a larger sense, the sukkah enables us to touch on our people’s history of wandering, of making their home wherever they found themselves. Celebrating Sukkot marks our collective passage from vulnerability to renewed strength.”
