Military to be honored at annual Pilot Club Memorial Day tribute

American flags saluting those who served our country will be on display this weekend in front of the Lightner/City of St. Augustine building, in honor of Memorial Day.

SAINT AUGUSTINE – The Pilot Club of St. Augustine will once again place American flags in front of the Lightner Building during the Memorial Day Weekend.  Individuals are invited to submit the names of those who have served and include branch of service. Deadline for submissions is May 21.Only new names need to be submitted. Names of those saluted in past years are already on file.

To submit a name call 819-8438.The flags will be on display beginning May 25 and removed late in the day May 27.

Anyone who would like to assist in placing the flags is invited to call the same number for details.

A patriotic contribution to the community there is no charge, but donations are always welcomed. Checks can be made out to the Pilot Club of St. Augustine and mailed to PO Box 3761, St. Augustine, Fl. 32085.

To submit names individuals are invited to call 904-819-8438. All branches of services are included in the tribute including the Florida National Guard, Merchant Marine, Coast Guard, Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force.
