Here’s What’s Happening Around Town

The Vilano Beach Main Street meeting begins at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, at the Hampton Inn and Suites, 95 Vilano Road.  Agenda items include the Jan. 19 Palatka regional meeting, Artwalk off the beaten path, the Vilano 5 K and the Vilano Beach Tour of Homes/Sea Turtle Soiree/Seminar on Homes.

The Pilot Club of St. Augustine meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, at Applebee’s for a program meeting under the direction of the safety and health areas. Guest speaker will be Cpl. Diana Bryant, St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office. Her topics are fraud/identity theft prevention and personal safety.

The St. Augustine Regional Council installation dinner begins at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Terra and Acqua, 134 Sea Grove Main St., St. Augustine Beach. Special guest will be Amy Angelilli with the Adventure Project, and special presentations – Art Breakers and Pink Heals. Other features are planned.

Cathedral Parish School celebrates its 101st anniversary with an event at the River House at 6 p.m. Jan. 27. Contact the front office, 824-2861, for ticket information.

The St. Augustine Tale Tellers present Theater of the Mind: Storytelling at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Limelight Studio Theatre. Featured will be ” Oldest City Tourism 1870-1940.”

The North Florida Springs Environmental Center, 99 N.W. 1st Ave., High Springs, will be the setting at noon Feb. 7 for an hour of learning with Florida Springs Institute executive director Dr. Robert Knight. Topic is “Springs Stresses – Groundwater Pumping, Fertilizers, Wastewater Disposal, Recreation.”
