A change in time for the talk by Dr. Richard Bell, professor at the University of Maryland, has been announced for the St. Augustine Lighthouse program. Bell, who is a contributor to Smithsonian National Museum of American History in research and scholarship, will be presented at 4 p.m. Feb. 9.
Bell received his Ph.D. from Harvard University and his B.A. from the University of Cambridge. His research interests encompass the histories of print communications and violence prior to the Civil War. He will discuss the emotional plight and lives of British Loyalists during and after the Revolutionary War as they fled their homes.
