This is a traditional hot sauce, but it is also a slaw! As you use it, you eat the slaw as a side dish. The longer it keeps, the hotter the “sauce” gets. No sugar, no fat in this recipe!
1 Bag, shredded cabbage and carrots
Juice of 1 orange
Juice of 1 lime
2 T Vinegar
1 Onion, cut in half and sliced as thinly as possible
2-6 Datil peppers, minced very finely
Salt, as you please
Combine together and let sit in fridge at least several hours. It improves on sitting.
