Youth chorus off to Sea World

SAINT AUGUSTINE – The St. Augustine Youth Chorus invites the public to a special concert, “I hear America Singing” on Friday May 12, 5:30 p.m. at Ancient City Baptist Church, 27 Sevilla St.

A concert of patriotic songs, folk songs from America, spirituals, and songs composed by contemporary Americans will be presented by this 35 voice auditioned chorus of children from St. Augustine and St. John’s County.  The audience will be invited to sing along on some old favorites. Kerry Fradley, founder and director of the chorus, will also be leading the singers in a special performance at Sea World Orlando on April 21.

The St Augustine Youth Chorus performs regularly with the St. Augustine Community Chorus at Christmas time.  They have sung with the North Florida Women’s Chorale, the St. Augustine Chamber Singers, at Disney World, and for a special program honoring the National Park Service at the Castillo San Marco.  The concert on May 12 is featured as part of the Romanza Festivale of the Arts and is free and open to the public.  Check the website for details
