PONTE VEDRA BEACH  – Stellers Gallery at Ponte Vedra Beach will exhibit the work of nationally-recognized painters Laura Lacambra Shubert and Erin Gregory. The opening reception will be held on Thursday, April 27 from 6 to 9 p.m. at 240 A1A North featuring a new body of work by each of the two artists.

As a gallery favorite, Lacambra Shubert has been with Stellers since 1995. While admiring Erin Gregory’s work for years, Stellers welcomed Gregory to the gallery last year. She quickly became one of the most highly sought after artists. The artists’ individual use of color and light in both subtle and bold brush strokes evoke nostalgic and uplifting feelings by the viewer for a more casual theme at the springtime show.

Lacambra Shubert’s loose brush strokes, thick with paint in acrylic and oil, offer light and rich characters which transcend the content of the initial image, allowing viewers to feel strong emotions of joy and warmth while focusing on themes of beauty and happiness in a subtle, suggestive manner. The optimistic and romantic concepts portray scenes encountered in daily life.

Gregory’s focus as an artist emphasizes contrast and variety within the composition of each painting. She vividly captures the light and color of her subjects in florals, landscapes, and figures. She paints in acrylic and oil with close-up and distant bold colors, and lively layers and washes.
