PALATKA – Big things are happening at Ravine Gardens State Park,
For one thing, the park is going to the dogs June 3 from 9 to 11 a.m., when Dog Days will be spotlighted with treats, tricks and tons of fun for canines.
Representatives from the Animal Health Center, Crill & Palm Vet Clinic, Shelton Vet Clinic, Pet Supermarket, dog trainers and Florida Fish and Wildlife’s K9 Unit will be on hand, along with SAFE, which will have pets for adoption.
Dogs must be on leash the entire time,
This is free to annual pass holders. Regular park admission is $5 per vehicle for 2-8 occupants; $4 single occupant; $2 pedistrians, bicyclists, extra passengers, passengers in vehicle with holder of annual individual entrance pass.
Ravine Gardens State Park will host two Eco-Adventure Days camps this summer to connect local youth to nature and provide an exciting and educational way for children to discover the amazing diversity of Florida’s natural resources. Each five-day camp will be filled with learning objectives and corresponding games, crafts, and hands-on activities to broaden children’s awareness of the natural world and themselves.
It will be at Ravine Gardens State Park, located at, 1600 Twigg St., Palatka, geared for children going into the third, fourth or fifth grade in the 2017-18 school year. Campers will learn about the amazing habitats of Ravine Gardens, while exploring, creating, and engaging in a fun and safe environment.
Eco-Adventure Days: Summer Camp Dates for 2017
June Camp: June 26 –30
July Camp: July 10 –14
The program will run from 8 a.m. to noon. all days.
Both weeks cover the same material,
so pick a week that fits your family’s schedule best.
The summer camp is $30 per child. This includes all activities and instruction for the camp, as well as healthy snacks and lunches. Camp fees benefit the Friends of Ravine Gardens, who supply the materials for the summer camp. Lunch will be provided each day by the Putnam County School Food Service Program.
