SAINT AUGUSTINE – Volunteers from the Pilot Club, 4-H and St. Joseph Academy, along with friends of all three groups turned out May 27 to place flags in front of the Lightner Building this Memorial Day.

The flags, which are marked with names of those who have served in the Armed Forces, represent both living and deceased individuals who have fought for freedom for this country.

IMG_2973This tribute to the military has been a tradition for the Pilot Club for a number of years. Several hundred flags are on display this year, and will remain in front of the city hall building until early on the morning of May 30.

IMG_2975The Pilot Club of St. Augustine is part of an international organization which is devoted to service in the community. The local organization was chartered Sept. 8, 1936.
