Special services at the synagogue

First Congregation Sons of Israel continues its Visiting Rabbi Series with Rabbi Barry Altman. Rabbi Altman will be returning with his guitar for a special Shavuot service and Erev Shabbat service.

Thursday, June 1 at 5:30 p.m. will be the observance of second day of Shavuot in the Max Jaffe Hall of First Congregation Sons of Israel, 161 Cordova St. Service will be led by Rabbi Altman, beginning with Mincha. There will be a reading from the Book of Ruth and a Yiskor Service. Following services, there will be a wine and cheese reception (traditional dairy refreshments).

Friday, June 2 at  7:30 p.m. will be  Erev Shabbat service in the Max Jaffe Hall of First Congregation Sons of Israel. The service will also be led by Rabbi Altman. Following the service will be a traditional Oneg Shabbat (traditional dairy refreshments).
