News from the COA

The Council on Aging and AARP will sponsor a class for mature drivers (55 and over at River House, 179 Marine St.. Tuesday, June 20, 9 a.m. – 3  p.m. (30 min lunch break). Reservations are required, please call 209-3655 to reserve your place. Cost at the door is $20 for AARP members and $25 for Non-AARP members. UltraShred Technologies specializes in providing onsite document shredding to residents, businesses, health care facilities, institutions, and schools. The company has been generous in donating a shredding bin at River House (179 Marine St.) from May 17 through June 28. If you have any private documents to be shredded please stop by Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. – 4 p0p.m. Cost is $5 per grocery size bag with a maximum of 3 bags per person. Come to Socrates Café at River House, 179 Marine St., on Mondays from noon-1:30 p.m., and Fridays at Coastal Community Center, 180 Marine St. from 1-2:30 p.m. to discuss questions raised by participants. There is no cost to River House Activity Members and a $4 per meeting cost for non-members.
