SAINT AUGUSTINE – The Lightner Museum announces Manifest Distilling and The Perfect Pour as new sponsors for its upcoming “Summer Mixology Series”. The first in the series, featuring bourbon, is being held this Wednesday, June 21 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the museum’s Historic Pool Area.
Tickets are $45 each and are available online by visiting www.lightnermuseum.org/summer-mixology.
Manifest Distilling is the only full-scale distillery located in Jacksonville and has quickly made a name for itself by producing award-winning vodka and gin and ensuring their ingredients are from the highest quality sources. The Lightner Museum is delighted to be highlighting their products and welcoming members of the Manifest team, David Cohen and Tom Johnson, to lead the discussion on distilling practices and processes and the inherent nature of spirits.
The Lightner Museum is also happy to announce a sponsorship from the dynamic duo, The Perfect Pour, to help serve the specially-made spirits for guests to sample. Their well-regarded professionalism will add the perfect touch to our summer series.
The “Summer Mixology Series” will seek to highlight the social trends of the Gilded Era, one of the more popular and iconic changes being the development of the cocktail. Guests will be able to sample specialty-crafted cocktails and enjoy food-pairings while also learning how to entertain with ease and style in their own homes.
“It will be as if Martha Stewart and F. Scott Fitzgerald were in attendance”, said Lightner Museum Educator Elizabeth Graham.
The “Summer Mixology Series” will feature three enjoyable and educational nights devoted to exploring the social and cultural history of the cocktail hour and featuring some of the more popular spirits of the Gilded Age. Taking place once a month, each mixology event will focus on one particular spirit, its history in America, and how it is best paired with particular flavors. Guests will be able to sample featured craft cocktails and food pairings
