SAINT AUGUSTINE – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a construction open house regarding the San Marco Ave./May St./W. San Carlos Ave. intersection improvement project and the May St. drainage project on Wednesday, Aug. 16, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in City Hall’s Alcazar Room, 75 King St.
The public is invited to attend the open house anytime during the two hours to learn more about the projects including timeframe, construction activities, traffic impacts and other details. FDOT project staff will be available to answer questions. This is an informal open house and no presentation is scheduled.
Through collaboration and consensus with the City of St. Augustine and the community, the San Marco Ave./May St./W. San Carlos Ave.intersection will be reconfigured and widened to allow for better traffic flow in the area.
Construction of the new intersection configuration is set to begin in mid-September and is scheduled to be open for operation in summer 2018. Upon the opening of the intersection, replacement of a stormwater pipe on the north side of May St. from San Marco Ave. to east of Magnolia Ave. will begin and is expected to be completed in the summer 2019.

The Galimore Community Pool announces new hours through the rest of the pool’s 2017 season which concludes on Sunday, Oct. 1.
The new operating hours for both family swim and lap swim are:
Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 6 a.m.-10 p.m.
Tuesday/Thursday: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Saturday: Noon-6 p.m.
Sunday: 1-4:30 p.m.
Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 4: Noon-4 p.m..

GRAPES OF ROTH
The Grapes of Roth, an energetic classic rock trio founded by veteran solo performer Elizabeth Roth, returns to the Plaza’s Gazebo Stage for the Aug. 10 Concerts in the Plaza performance at 7 p.m..
The two hour free concert is in the Plaza de Constitution.
A portion of Old Dixie Hwy. between US-1 and Old Moultrie Road. will be closed from 9: p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10 until 6 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 11 to allow for the installation of underground facilities.
During the closure, variable message boards and detour signs will direct motorists around the work area. Drivers are asked to plan routes accordingly and drive safely.
