First Congregation Sons of Israel, a conservative, egalitarian congregation, is the oldest synagogue in the Nation’s oldest City welcomes Rabbi Joel Fox on two weekends this month when he will be leading Erev Shabbat. Services are Friday, Aug. 11, 7:30 pm, and Shabbat service on Saturday, Aug. 12, 10 am.
Friday, Aug. 25,, Rabbi Fox will begin Erev Shabbat service at 6:30 pm followed by a Shabbat pasta dinner, sponsored by Les and Karen Stern. Reservations are requested. Rabbi Fox will lead Shabbat service on Saturday, Aug. 26, 10 am.
Rabbi Fox received Cantorial training in Israel attending the Rubin Academy of Music and the Israel Institute of Cantorial Art, and is a member of the Cantors Assembly. He received his Smicha from Rabbinical Seminary International, and serves today as both a Rabbi and Cantor in the capacity of both teacher and entertainer.
