Senior Pilates
Developed by Joseph Pilates, Pilates is a form of exercise that will result in an improved core of stability, flexibility, strength and energy. This is accomplished by efficient mindful movement, emphasizing the balanced development of the body and mind. Modifications will be offered for every movement shown. It is also a lot of fun! This course is taught by Susan Patterson, a former English teacher of 38 years and an avid lifelong “exerciser”. Susan earned her Pilates Mat 1 certification to help seniors (like herself) develop and feel the benefits of Pilates. Pilates will be on Mondays from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. starting Oct. 2 at River House (179 Marine St.). Cost is $4 for members or $5 for non-members. Students will need to bring a yoga mat. If you have straps please bring those as well. Call 209-3655 to register.
