ELKTON – It’s time to head to the country for some old fashioned fun.
Oct. 8 from noon to 4 p.m., St. Ambrose Catholic Church members will host the annual Fall Festival, a day filled with good food, great entertainment and a time to visit with friends and relatives from near and far. While adults can relax under the shade of the huge oak trees on the church grounds, kids can enjoy games, face painting and hay rides.
Musical selections for the afternoon will be provided by the Red River Band. The culinary treats are headlined by Mary Ellen Masters’ mouth-watering Minorcan clam chowder, and also include dine-in or take-out barbecue pork sandwiches, pork dinners, French fries, chicken wings, hot dogs, desserts, ice cream and a wide selection of beverages.
There’s also a yard sale, a silent auction, 50/50 drawings every half hour and a bake sale. And there’s an opportunity to tour the historic St. Ambrose Church, built in 1907, and to visit the Garden of the Cross.
Follow the signs to the church from State Road 207, County Road 305 or State Road 13.
