SAINT AUGUSTINE – First Congregation Sons of Israel, a conservative egalitarian congregation, welcomes all Jewish military veterans and members of the armed forces to a special service.
A special Friday evening service is being led by Visiting Rabbi Joel Fox at, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at 161 Cordova St. Included will be a selection of patriotic songs and readings.
Guests will be active duty and veterans of the United States military, and members of the National Guard. First Congregation Sons of Israel will be paying tribute and showing their gratitude by worshiping together and enjoying the freedom and privileges which United States military members have and continue to provide.
“We want to thank these men and women who are protecting our rights to go to synagogue, study Torah, and to learn Hebrew. At the same time they are willing to give their lives so people of all faiths can worship as they desire. We are all grateful to these men and women who have made such great sacrifices and given so much of themselves in order to serve our country.” says Rabbi Fox.
