COA sets Sunshine dinner, dance
SAINT AUGUSTINE – Get on your dancing shoes because Council on Aging’s Annual Sunshine Dinner and Dance is in full swing! Not only will there be a night full of dancing, but a fantastic buffet dinner, raffles and prizes, music by DJ Terry Hunter, and beer from a local craft brewery.
The Sunshine Dinner and Dance, supported by Women of the Moose #1101, St Augustine Line Dancers, and Council on Aging, is set to take place on Saturday, Jan. 27from 6- 0 p.m.. The location is St Johns County Agriculture Center (3125 Agriculture Center Dr., St Augustine, FL Cost is $20 per person or $35 per couple. The RSVP date is Jan. 24.
“My husband and I attend this event every single year and it is so much fun,” explained Amy Leach, Council on Aging’s Volunteer Coordinator. “It supports such a great cause that I feel good while having fun!”
Monies raised go to support the Council on Aging’s Sunshine Fund. This fund is used to purchase fun things for our older adults- birthday cakes, entertainment, arts and crafts, and so much more.
Council on Aging has five senior center locations- River House, Coastal Community Center, THE PLAYERS, Trout Creek, and Hastings. All of these centers offer an array of services and programs, like exercise, art, educational, wellness, and language classes, and games and prizes. A hot lunch is also prepared and served to those participating.
