SAINT AUGUSTINE – The Council on Aging is honoring community centenarians and nonagenarians at the annual Centenarian Luncheons at noon May 3 at noon at River House (179 Marine St; and May 23at 11:30 a.m. at THE PLAYERS Community Senior Center (175 Landrum Lane, Ponte Vedra Beach.
Table sponsorships are available for $250 and include a variety of special recognitions and a seat (Ponte Vedra) or two seats (St Augustine) at the luncheon.
If you or someone you want to honor is age 95 or better, please contact us to participate in this very special celebration of our community’s treasured older adults.

At River House (179 Marine Street) twice monthly for Wellness Wednesdays (April 18th) from 11am-noon. Florida Health Care Plans will give complimentary discussions regarding various health topics including diabetes, heart health, nutrition, & fitness so that you may keep your body and mind in optimal condition. River House Chorus is back Fridays from 10-11:30am (179 Marine Street) to enjoy the many fantastic mental, physical, and spiritual benefits of group singing. Instructor Diana Milesko is sure to inspire sensational singing with her invaluable talent, experience, and passion for music. Back by Popular Demand! Dinner and a Movie!
Join movie goers the third Thursday of each month at River House, 179 Marine Street. Call River House at 904-209-3655 to find out the movie of the month, and make your reservations. The next movie will play Thursday, April 19th. Doors open at 4pm with the movie beginning promptly at 4:30p.m. Cost is $15 for River House Members and $20 for Non-members. In addition to dinner, guests will receive a soft drink and popcorn. Beer and wine available at additional cost. Advanced payment and registration is required by Thursday, April 12th. NEW Session! Gypsy Skirt Dancing
Many cultures around the world including India, Egypt, Spain, Africa, Mexico and the Caribbean dance with big skirts. Join us on Mondays starting April 16th from 11am-12pm at River House (179 Marine Street) for a fun, festive class that celebrates diversity & the gypsy in us all! Moves are basic, but it’s still a great workout. Plus, other fun props (fans, umbrellas, etc.) will be added to our gypsy repertoire. Six loaner skirts will be available in each class. If you’ve ever been interested in learning how to play guitar, ukulele, banjo, or dulcimer, please join us at River House (179 Marine Street) on Tuesday, April 24th from 10am-12:30pm. You will learn how to play any song by learning all major and minor chords in one easy lesson! Bring your own instrument, borrow one from a friend, or use one of ours.
