SAINT AUGUSTINE: The St. Augustine Humane Society and Flagler College strategic communications students will host an afternoon of humane pet education at the Adventures in Pet Care event. The family fun day will be held on Saturday, April 21 from noon to 4 pm at the St. Augustine Humane Society, 1665 Old Moultrie. Admission to the event will be a donation of new and unopened pet food to support the Humane Society’s Pet Food Pantry.
Activities at Adventures in Pet Care are designed to help adults and children learn about pet behavior, training, nutrition, microchips, parasite prevention, veterinary care, and grooming. As guests explore the informative tents, they can fill out a “passport” for the chance to win raffle prizes.
In addition, guests will receive coupons for $5 microchips and free nail trims along with tours of the clinic and grooming salon. The event will also feature K9 Kilo from the St. Augustine Beach Police Department, and K9 officers from the St. Johns County Sherriff’s Office. During the event, guests are invited to Wingin’it Catering and Food Truck and Lava Dome Pizza for food and drinks.
“Our teams at the Humane Society and Flagler College have been working together to plan the event,” said Carolyn Smith, the Humane Society’s Executive Director. “We look forward to hosting the community effort about pet ownership and many resources available to everyone.”
