Coast Guard history upcoming topic

SAINT AUGUSTINE – The History of the U.S. Coast Guard will be the discussion topic at 7 p.m. Aug. 16 at the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum.

Ensign Brian Reed of the United States Coast Guard will give a brief history of the USCG and discuss what daily life entails for those who currently serve. Ensign Brian Reed is stationed in Jacksonville and is part of the Public Affairs Detachment (PADET). PADET Jacksonville is a sub-office of the Coast Guard’s 7th District Headquarters in Miami.

Admission is free and this event is open to the public at the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum.
