Brighten interior with pretty flowers
- Q. I like having cut flowers in my home. What are some perennials I can plant that will provide me with long flower stems for cutting?
- A. A few perennials that will provide cut flowers are Black-eyed Susan, penta, agapanthus, Shasta daisy and yarrrow.
- Q. How should the soil be prepared for a bed of perennials?
- A. Perennials will remain in the same spot for a few years before being divided. Therefore soil amendments will prove beneficial. Place several inches of organic matter over the bed and then spade it in. Organic matter can be leaves, compost, peat moss or manure to name a few.
