PALATKA – Re-enactors, riverboat tours, biking and kayaking and “Art Through Bartram’s Eyes” are just some of the highlights promised Saturday, Sept. 29, during the St. Johns River Bartram Frolic.

Organized by the Bartram Trail in Putnam County Committee, the City of Palatka and Putnam County, the day includes living history on the city’s riverfront, an educational activity for school-age youth, food offered by local civic clubs, a Heart Heath 5k walk/run beginning at 7:30 a.m. and a chalk explosion street art festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

From 6 to 9 p.m. there’s a Revitalized Historic Palatka Frolic Block Party in the 300 block of St. Johns Avenue, and a Bartram Art Show is planned at 216 Reid Road.

River boat tours are at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., offering a sunset and wine cruise for the latter. Guided kayak tours launch from Riverfront Park at 8:45 a.m. with participants invited to bring their own kayak or rent one. And guided bicycle rides from the riverfront will be available.

Festival on the Riverfront continues from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
