SAINT AUGUSTINE – The second concert of the 2018-19 series hosted by the Music Department of St. Anastasia Catholic Church will feature the Astralis Chamber Ensemble on Friday, Nov. 16. The concert will take place in Celebration Hall in the new St. Enda of Aran Formation Center on the church campus located on Anastasia Island at 5205 A1A South. The concert begins at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

For more than 20 years, the musicians have been performing classical music for audiences across the globe. Their St. Augustine performance will feature “Baroque and Beyond, Part 1,” an eclectic program that includes an unaccompanied Bach cello suite, a Gaubert flute ballade, a Beethoven piano sonata and several works for trios – such as the Mendelssohn “Trio No. 1, Opus 49.” Designed specifically for music enthusiasts, the program will provide its listeners with insightful background on each composer, as well as an opportunity to meet with the performers following the concert. The trio includes Angela Massey, flutist, Troy Chang, cellist, and Dean Zhang, pianist.

The event is free and open to the public. Plenty of free parking is available. Financial donations will be graciously accepted to help offset concert expenses. For information on the series, call the church office at 471-5364, visit www.saccfl.org or email Peter Morin, music director, at staccmusic@aol.com.
