Holiday lights gleaming in communities

SAINT AUGUSTINE BEACH –    It’s the 18th annual Surf Illumination from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16.at the St Johns County Pier Park in St. Augustine Beach. Enjoy free family fun that includes holiday music, pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus, face painting, balloon twisting, two bounce houses and a performance by The Old City Drum Corps around 5:15pm.

At 5:30pm, be sure to witness the lighting of the St. Augustine Beach Christmas Tree by City Commissioner Don Samora and his family.

There will be 14 vendors participating in a Holiday Market & Bazaar, with arts & crafts, Christmas ornaments and figurines, candles and holiday vacation information. Snacks and refreshments will be served by two local food trucks as well.

LIGHT- UP NIGHT

SAINT AUGUSTINE – It’s Light-Up! Night for St. Augustine, marking the start of the 25th year of the Nights of Lights Saturday, Nov. 17.

Entertainment begins at 4pm with Showtime USA performing in the Parque de Menendez in front of City Hall, 75 King St. Then at 5:30pm the All Star Orchestra begins its performance from The Gazebo in the Plaza de la Constitucion.

The entertainment will pause at 6:30pm for the lighting ceremony also from The Gazebo.

Avoid the traffic and the time spent looking for parking by taking advantage of the Nights of Lights free park and ride shuttle which begins tomorrow, November 17, and continues during the busiest times of the popular holiday lighting event.

The shuttle will operate from two parking locations north of downtown from 1:00pm until 11:00pm on Light-Up! Night, Nov. and Ripley’s Red Train Tours.   17, on the Friday and Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend, and every Saturday in December.

San Marco Lot,  301 San Marco Ave.

     Ride to: 

Visitor Information Ctr., 10 S. Castillo Dr.

Anastasia Island Shuttle on Light-Up! Night ONLY 

A special shuttle will operate from three parking locations along Anastasia Blvd. just on Light-Up! Night, November 17, from 4:00pm until 11:00pm.

     Park at: 

Anastasia Baptist Church, 1650 A1A South

St. Augustine Amphitheatre, 1340-C A1A South

R.B. Hunt Elementary, 125 Magnolia Dr.

Ride to:

Bridge of Lions (east end)

The Nights of Lights free park and ride shuttle is made possible by the City of St. Augustine with support from the St. Johns County Tourist Development Council.
