Datil Pepper Tea today

Put a little spice in your life today (April 27) at the Datil Pepper Tea from 2 to 4 p.m. at the St. Johns County Agricultural Center, west of St. Augustine just off State Road 16. Tickets, at a donation of $20, are available at the door.

The art of textile weaving, appearance by members of the Easter Festival Royal Family, the sale of datil pepper jelly and a variety of sweet and sassy refreshments will be available. Tea serving will include datil pepper tea created by St. Augustine Pilot Leslie Coleman.

Special guest at the event will be David Ponce Jr., whose family dates back to the beginnings of this oldest city. Ponce’s grandfather, the late Jimmy Ponce Sr., a gentleman with a gift of gab,  was well known for his promotion of the city during its Quadricentennnial Celebration
