Synagogue sponsoring benefit auction

SAINT AUGUSTINE – First Congregation Sons of Israel silent auction continues May 9 from 1 to 5 p.m. and May 10 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Max Jaffe Hall, 161 Cordova St. Proceeds will be used to benefit the Rabbi and Building Funds.

Available will be art, collectibles, vintage items and more. To view some of the items go to

Bid sheets are located by each item in Max Jaffe Hall. Those who cannot visit the site call 904-829-9532 to discuss the bidding process.

Bidders must give their telephone numbers, clearly and legibly, in order to be notified.

Winning bids will be notified by telephone May 10 at the end of the event, and items can be collected between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. May 12 at the Synagogue.

Payment options are cash, check or credit card.

Proceeds will allow the congregation to have Rabbi Joel Fox visit the synagogue more often beginning in September; and also enable work to continue on the historic building.
