Auto show Sept. 15

PONTE VEDRA BEACH  – The St. Johns County (SJC) Chamber of Commerce will host the 17th annual Ponte Vedra Auto Show presented by Fields Auto Group on Sunday, Sept. 15 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Nocatee Event Field. The Auto Show, which is open and free to spectators, will feature up to 180 classic and new collectors’ cars all vying for the show’s 30 trophies. This year’s show features a newly designed website, which is ready for entry registration. Automobile pre-registration is $35 per vehicle thru Sept. 11. Day of registration is $50 per vehicle.  New to the show this year will be a “Car Corral” sponsored by J7 Motorsports. For those who want to show off their car, but not have it judged or have a significant car or truck to sell the Car Corral has been organized to facilitate this option.  Please note: Corral participants agree to arrive at 8 a.m. and leave at 3 p.m. Early exits will not be permitted.

Car or truck space can be reserved for $25. Space is limited, so anyone interested should reserve their space as quickly as possible. Space can be reserved at www.pvautoshow.com. “Car shows are great places to look for a classic or muscle car. The Corral will provide the opportunity to speak with a prospective buyer in detail about the owners’ car,” stated Toni Boudreaux-Godwin, St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce Ponte Vedra Beach Division Director. “We feel this buying experience is much more desirable than buying a car from pictures online or from a classified advertisement. Sign up quickly as this is going to be sold out.” 

 Four special anniversaries and one Memorial trophy will also be showcased this year. Special anniversaries include the 30th Anniversary of the Lexus, 60th Anniversary of the Mini, and 50th Anniversary of the Porsche Mid-Engine Honoring the Anniversary of the 914, and the 30th Anniversary of the Land Rover Discovery. The Ponte Vedra Auto Show is proud to name its Best in Show award in honor of its past chairman, Larry Weisman, who passed away earlier this year.
