Storm, holiday news from the City of St. Augustine

In times of emergency, depend on information closest to home

     You have many choices for sources of information especially during an impending weather emergency such as we are experiencing now. 
     We believe that in times of emergency, it is best to first go to sources closest to our home because that information is likely to be the most helpful. 
     As part of your storm preparations, take a minute to bookmark the websites for the city and St. Johns County Emergency Management and connect to the city’s social media accounts. 
      Lastly, keep the phone numbers readily available for now and for after the storm so you can get your questions answered and concerns met quickly.

City offices open today, closed on Monday

     Even as preparations are being made ahead of the possible impact of Hurricane Dorian. offices for the City of St. Augustine are open today, Friday, August 30. 

     Offices will be closed on Monday, September 2 in observance of the Labor Day holiday. 

      City office hours will be updated early next week. Keep up on the latest information from the City of St. Augustine on social media @CityStAug and online at www.CityStAug.com.

 The City of St. Augustine is providing free sandbags today starting at 8:00am until 5:00pm or until supplies are depleted at Francis Field on West Castillo Dr.

     Members of the public must provide their own transportation and shovels, and are responsible for filling their own bags. The sandbags are free of charge and there is a limit of 20 bags per vehicle.

     Vehicles should enter Francis Field from the west off Riberia St. and follow directions.

No meeting on Tuesday, September 2

      Due to the anticipated and uncertain impact of Hurricane Dorian, the City of St. Augustine Planning and Zoning Board meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 3 has been cancelled. That meeting’s agenda is available here.

     Items on the September agenda will now be considered at the next meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 1.
