Sukkot rites at synagogue
SAINT AUGUSTINE – First Congregation Sons of Israel will conduct the synagogue Sukkot observance as a part of the upcoming Shabbat services
Friday the service is at 7:30 p.m.. Oct. 18 is the third Intermediary day of Sukkot. For this special service, we students from the religious school at Temple Beth El in Boca Raton will be visiting, as part of their for ninth grade retreat.
Accompanying them will be Melissa Abell, Assistant Director of Youth Education and Engagement, and Rabbi Greg Weisman. Rabbi Weisman will lead the Erev Shabbat service. Part of the service will be held in the Sukkah, built by Reggie Daniels.
An Oneg Shabbat, sponsored by Alan and Laurel Karp, will follow the service.
Oct. 19 Bob Gerson and Jeff Golden will lead the Shabbat Hol Hamoed Sukkot service, that begins at 10 a.m. Again, part of the service will be held in the sukkah. A kiddush lunch, featuring Sukkot-themed food, sponsored by Channah Ferm and Karen Stern, will follow the service.
