Rosenblum trio at St. Anastasia

SAINT AUGUSTINE – St. Anastasia Catholic Church continues its 10th concert series on Saturday, Jan. 18. The Ben Rosenblum Trio will perform a concert at 7 p.m  in Celebration Hall located on the campus of at St. Anastasia Catholic Church. There is a $10 door charge and admission is on a first come basis.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The trio, led by jazz pianist Rosenblum, will bring selections from their newest album, River City, as well as songs they’ve developed. The trio’s repertoire incorporates traditional South American, Irish, and Eastern European styles, modern musical theater, and classical music and movie soundtracks. Rosenblum is based primarily in New York City, and is a graduate of the Columbia-Juilliard program. In 2015, he was a finalist at the American Jazz Pianist Competition in Melbourne, Florida, and in 2016, at the Jacksonville, Florida Jazz Piano Competition. In 2018, he earned further recognition from the ASCAP Young Jazz Composers Award competition in the form of an honorable mention, and he was featured at the ASCAP Foundation’s 2018 “We Write The Songs” event at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C.

The series continues with four additional performances including:               

  • 22, 7 p.m., church, Arianna and Robin, Four Hand, Two Pianos
  • March 1, 4 p.m., Celebration Hall, Paul Brock Band ($10 door charge)
  • March 14, 7 p.m., church, The Powell Trio (Helen Morin, Randy Tinnin, Curtis Powell)
  • April 19, 6 p.m., church, Jacksonville University Symphony Orchestra

The concerts are open to the public and are free unless noted with a $10 donation to assist in covering performance expenses.  Parking is free. While most concerts will take place in the church, some will be performed in Celebration Hall in the St. Enda of Aran Formation Center on the church campus.
